I was wondering while looking up to the sky and said “Eli, have you ever wondered what the world will be like in 50 years?”

Eli looked at me and said, “Technology will advance a lot, Riri. I imagine flying cars, smart cities powered by solar energy, and artificial intelligence assisting people in everyday life.” I nodded but hesitated. “That sounds incredible, but what about the dangers? With everything connected, won’t there be privacy concerns? Could people become too dependent on technology?” Eli tilted her head. “That’s a good point. Every great invention brings both possibilities and risks.”

These questions made us think. That’s why we decided to share our thoughts with Professor Poki. He always had a balanced view on things and could help us understand the bigger picture.

When we arrived, Poki was reading one of his science books. Eli said, “Poki, we want to make predictions about the future of technology. Can you help us figure out if our ideas are realistic?” Poki smiled, setting his book aside. “That sounds exciting! Tell me what you think.”

Eli went first. “I believe cars will fly, making travel faster and more convenient.” I added, “Houses will be fully automated. Everything will be controlled by artificial intelligence, making life easier. But… what if people rely too much on technology? That could become a problem.”

Poki nodded thoughtfully, “Both of your predictions are possible. Technology can improve our lives in many ways, but it also comes with challenges. The real question is how we balance progress with responsibility.” He leaned forward. “Why don’t you research more about this? Look into current technological advancements and the problems they might create. Then, come back and share what you’ve learned with me.”

Eli and I exchanged glances. We had a mission!

Excited to uncover more, Eli and I got to work. We searched through books, articles, and research papers, eager to understand the future of technology. Then, we turned to the internet. We learned that while technology could revolutionize medicine, it also raised concerns about privacy. Flying cars sounded exciting, but without proper regulations, they could lead to air congestion. Armed with this new knowledge, we returned to Poki.

“We’ve learned that artificial intelligence is helping in medicine, but it also raises privacy concerns,” I reported. “And flying cars could cause traffic problems in the sky if they aren’t well-regulated,” Eli added. Poki smiled, “I’m glad you’ve done your research. The real challenge of future technology will be balancing its benefits with its risks. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of new inventions, but true progress comes from using technology wisely.”

As we discussed these ideas, we noticed a group of children nearby, running and laughing as they played with a drone. It zipped through the air, skillfully dodging trees and obstacles. Suddenly, one of the children tripped, losing control of the remote.

The drone wobbled and then crashed to the ground with a loud thud. “Oh no! Their drone is broken,” Eli said, concerned. I looked at the damaged drone and had an idea. “Maybe we can help! If we use our creativity and what we’ve learned about technology, we might be able to fix it.”

Eli’s eyes sparkled. “That’s a great idea! Let’s work together.” Under Poki’s guidance, we quickly got to work. I used my robotic tools to repair the damaged parts, while Eli helped find replacement components from nearby gadgets.

Poki checked the wiring and made adjustments. Within minutes, the drone was as good as new. When we handed it back, the children cheered, their faces lighting up with excitement. Eli turned to me with a thoughtful expression. “Today, we learned something important. Technology isn’t just about futuristic predictions—it’s about how we use our knowledge to solve problems and help others.”

Professor nodded. “Exactly. The real power of technology isn’t in its speed or automation, but in how it connects us and improves lives. You two have shown that technology isn’t just for creating—it’s for collaborating and helping.”

We knew that the future of technology would be bright, as long as we remembered to use it with empathy and responsibility. And so our adventures continue, always prepared to face whatever the future holds.
