Before we enter the magical garden, let’s play a fun game! Each fruit or veggie below has a special “power.” Can you guess what it might be? For each food, tap or click the power you think it gives. Ready? Let’s go!
One sunny day, Eli and I visited a colourful village.
While playing outside, we entered a glowing garden filled with sparkling fruits and vegetables.
Eli jumped excitedly in the garden saying, “look at this enchanting Garden of Health!” My eyes widened in wonder. I asked, “What makes this garden enchanting?”.
Eli said eagerly, “Let me show you”. She led me to a bush of bright blueberries and picked a handful, and popped them into her mouth.
Suddenly, she flew around the garden faster than ever!
I exclaimed, “Wow, amazing!”.
Next, Eli showed me a Crunchy Carrot.
She took a big bite, and her eyes widened.
She squinted at a distant butterfly and she could see its tiny, bright wings! I yelled “This is incredible!”.
Then, we found Sparkling Spinach. Eli said with a playful wink,
“This will make me strong like a superhero!”.
Eli tasted the spinach, and she flexed her wings like a superhero.
“Look at me, Riri! I’m so strong!”.
I asked, “Do they really make us superheroes?” Eli smiled, “Well, every fruit and vegetable in this garden has special powers! They help us feel strong and full of energy.”
I asked, astonished, “Really? How does that work?” Eli said, “I am just kidding about super powers. Actually it’s not magic, it’s science”.
She took out her phone and showed me an app, “This is called ChemApp.
It is a super cool app that analyses food. Watch this!”
She held her phone up to the blueberries. On the screen, colourful graphics appeared: “Antioxidants: High. Natural Sugars: High. Energy Boost: Strong.” Then, she said, “See? Blueberries have compounds that give you energy. That will make people run fast.”
I was intrigued and asked “What about carrots?”. Eli scanned the Crunchy Carrot. The app displayed: “Vitamin A: Very High. Vision Support: Excellent.” After the carrot, Eli scanned the spinach. The app showed: “Iron: High. Strength Boost: Strong. Muscle Growth: Excellent.”
Eli flexed her wings and said “Spinach is loaded with iron and other nutrients that help build muscles. The magic of this garden comes from science working its wonders.
I was fascinated, and asked, “But how does ChemApp know all this?”. Eli explained, “The app uses a mix of image recognition and a huge database of nutritional science. When you scan food, the app identifies and matches it to its data. It tells you everything—vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and even the natural compounds that give food its unique benefits.
She pointed to another feature, “Look, it can also recommend foods based on what your body needs. Feeling tired? Try foods high in energy-boosting compounds like bananas or blueberries.
Want stronger muscles? Spinach and almonds are your go-to. It’s like having a nutrition scientist in your pocket!” I stared at her phone, amazed, “So anyone can use this app to learn about healthy eating?” Eli said, “Exactly. It’s like being a real food detective.”
As we left the garden, my mind buzzed with possibilities.
“If everyone used this tool, they could make better choices and feel healthier every day,” I said.
The glowing garden had shown us that science and technology could make the everyday world extraordinary.
