Pepper plant

Eli and I were walking in a botanical garden. There were so many plants to see. I wanted to explore them. Eli helped me learn the differences between them.

We saw many kinds of trees. Some were tall and some were short. I asked, “Eli, how do they grow?”

She chirped and said, “There are different methods, Riri. Some grow naturally. Some others should be cultivated.

Some of them are grown for their tasty fruit.
But not all of them are edible.”

I spotted a bright, tempting red berry. I asked, “Can I eat this?”. She alerted me: “No, that’s a wild berry from a yew tree.
It’s inedible and it can make you sick

I said, “Look here!” I showed Eli a row of bright raspberries. She said: “This spontaneously grows too, but it’s safe to eat. You can also cultivate it”.

Eli added, “not all natural plants are safe. Some, like raspberry, are edible. These could also be grown by people. Others, like redberry, are inedible and grow wild.”

I picked a raspberry and ate it. It was so tasty that I danced. I thanked Eli for teaching me new things about plants.

She joined me and danced. She said: “Remember Riri, not all plants are safe. Always check first!”. I replied: “It’s amazing! I wish to cultivate some edible plants!” We picked more berries and went home.
