One sunny morning, Eli and I took a walk in a park. I was captivated by the vibrant colours around us. Eli said, “Look at all these plants!”

My curiosity sparkled. I asked, “What exactly are plants?”.

Eli explained, “Plants are living things with roots, stems, and leaves. Sometimes they grow flowers or fruits. Let’s explore and learn more!”

Then, Eli pointed to a large tree. She said, “This is an oaktree

“Its roots keep it in place. And its leaves make food from sunlight”

I cannot understand how.

I asked, “So interesting. How do the leaves produce food?”.

Eli explained, “The leaves use sunlight, water, and air.

The green colour in the leaves helps capture light. This is called photosynthesis”.
I was amazed!

Eli told me, “They’re acorns. They are the fruit of the oaktree”

She went on, “Each acorn has a seed inside. The seeds can grow into an oak tree.

“So, do all plants start as seeds?” I asked.
Eli said, “Yes, most do.

They grow, form roots, and become plants. It’s the lifecycle of plants!”

I picked up an acorn. I asked, “Eli, can we plant a new oaktree? Do you think it will grow?”

Let’s plant an oak tree to complete the story.
