On a cold winter day, Eli was chirping tired.
She spent the whole afternoon resting.

Eli then got up and sneezed several times into a tissue.

She told me that she was sick. I asked,
“Eli, what is wrong with you? I don’t understand.”

Eli told me, “Let me show you something incredible.

This microscope will show you the reason.

I will show why I feel like this.”
I asked, “A microscope? It sounds interesting.”

Eli explained, “Yes, it’s an instrument. It was invented to increase the size of small objects.

We cannot see very tiny organisms with our eyes. With a microscope, they will look larger.”

Eli giggled, and explained, “No. Our bodies are made up of cells and tiny organisms. They are called bacteria.
There are some bacterias that help us. But, there are some that make us sick. They are like viruses.”

Eli then put the tissue paper under the microscope.
She told me to look through the binoculars, the glasses.

I looked and it was amazing. I was excited,
“I see little shapes. They are moving. What are they?

Then, Eli answered, “These are the bacterias
and viruses that made me sick”

Eli warned me, “Riri, bad bacterias and viruses are every where. We need to always wash our hands. We should cover our mouth when we sneeze. We should protect ourselves and our friends.”
